Supply Chain Engineer

The Senior Supply Chain Engineer III will be responsible for analysis and utilization of continuous improvement tools to design Supply Chain Solutions in current and future operations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required in Engineering/Business/Supply Chain or a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
• Minimum of three years of related experience is required.
• Advanced Level Skills in MS Word such as keyboard short cuts, creating macros, merge, merge queries, templates, table techniques, and working with images and text
• Advanced Level Skills in MS Project such as importing and exporting data to and from your project, connection to a Project Server, setting multiple project baselines, customizing columns in a table, creating custom views and reports, PERT analysis and project tracking, and maintaining project budget compliance AND/OR experience with AutoCAD.
• Advanced Level Skills in MS Visio such as creating Visio diagrams, creating custom styles and templates, cross functional flow charts, linking drawings to other MS applications, working with data, custom reports, and exporting
• Experience with Statistical and/or Transportation Analysis Tools (Minitab, SAS, Metlab, i2, Tmod, ILPS)
• Experience with Visual Basic Admin. (VBA) / Sequential Query Language (SQL) Additional Requirements: Industrial Engineering and/or Masters Degree preferred.

Functional/Technical Skills:

• MS Office - Excel & Access
• Modeling tools
• Strong Analytical experience

Responsibilities:

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis
• Maps and documents processes
• Recommends and implements process improvement
• Applies company methodologies and tools to design distribution/ transportation operations including staffing, equipment, sizing and layout
• May assist with inventory analysis
• Establishes performance measures
• Assists in communications with internal and external customers to understand business requirements
• Supports business development and helps create efficient designs and solutions processes
• Determines efficient utilization of resources by analyzing layouts, labor force, equipment, driver and equipment utilization charts
• Assists the Engineering and Operations Managers to implement efficient and competitive solutions
• Applies various Lean Six Sigma (LSS) tools

Position Description: The position requires an experienced and knowledgeable professional to serve as a change agent, developing, coordinating, facilitating and leading complex Lean Six Sigma Black Belt continuous improvement projects. Responsible for coaching and mentoring Black Belts and Green Belts, training Lean Sigma tools and methodologies, coaching project champions and process owners, and developing future leaders of Lean Six Sigma.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required in Business/Engineering/Supply Chain or a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience

Additional Requirements:

• MBA preferred. Minimum of 8 years of continuous process improvement experience and 1 year of supervisory experience, preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred, attainment is required within 12 months.
• Experience teaching Lean and/or Six Sigma and mentoring projects is preferred.
• This position must be able to influence at senior management level and group settings and must be an excellent trainer, facilitator, and presenter with a strong track record of performance.
• Significant experience in Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma, Mixed Model Flow/Pull and other process improvements and lean tools.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, system and change management/implementation skills.
• Proficiency required in MS Office. Experience in MS Project, SPC, & Lotus Notes preferred.

Training and Methodologies Role

• Own and manage the development, delivery and administration of all Lean Six Sigma methodologies, tools and training that will be deployed as part of the Lean Six Sigma initiative.
• Manage all aspects of training and delivery including external consultants and internalization of Lean Six Sigma Academy training.
• Serve as a member of the Lean Six Sigma Academy team providing insight and recommendations for introducing and integrating new methodologies and technologies to support Lean Six Sigma deployment.
• Partner with business leaders to strategically integrate methodologies with other global programs and initiatives.
• This key role will also support corporate groups in deployment and implementation of Lean Six Sigma (Requires diverse deployment experience).
• Manage all aspects of the development, customization, standardization and delivery of LSS Academy training curriculums and methodologies.
• Manage and develop internal training resources delivering LSS Academy courses. Continually assess and improve training delivery and effectiveness. Manage external training resources when needed.
• In collaboration with LSS Academy team, lead, manage and administer internal certification program.
• Support Leadership with integration strategy, standardization of deployment tools, methodologies and training.
• Own and manage the development, and execution of the LSS Academy improvement plan that will be developed and deployed across corporate groups (i.e. Engineering, Sales, Finance, etc.).
• Manage and develop LSS resources and internalization of LSS skills across corporate groups to support the overall corporate continuous improvement strategy.
• Partner with the local leadership team to select improvement areas and build a robust improvement strategy.

Responsibilities:

• Drive operational excellence through support and coaching of projects using Lean, Six Sigma, DFLS, or other related process improvement methodologies. Contact person for coordinating, communicating and publicizing operational excellence activities and successes.
• Facilitate strategy deployment supporting key business initiatives.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma methodology to identify & implement improvements to assigned projects. Help select and lead project teams to successfully execute multiple projects.
• Partner with, train and coach employees in the Lean Six Sigma methodology.
• Drive visibility and awareness of operational excellence.
• Track CI status, cost savings, training certifications, and events by project or account.
• Manages Lean Six Sigma project portfolios, conducts Kaizen events, leads Black/Green Belt training with a dynamic presentation style adaptable to multiple levels of an organization with the ability to translate concepts into practical application, and provides focused mentoring and coaching.
